2006 Calmant Creek Vineyard Pinot Noir
Sta. Rita Hills

From a stunning hilltop vineyard in the heart of the Santa Rita Hills appellation comes this Inky black and juicy Pinot Noir. The wine was aged for 15 months in two French barrels, one of which was new.

The nose is pungent, with notes of rose petal and violet, spices including nutmeg and cinnamon, and a hint of vanilla and menthol, Blueberry and waxy red vine licorice.

On the palate, the wine exhibits the true character of the appellation, namely the texture and power of Grand Cru Burgundy. I get flavors like blackberry, stewed plum, cedar, and notes of cherry cola.

Artistic expression is the window to a person's soul. Winemaking is art, our window, and a great reason to raise another glass. Cheers!
